Abstract
This experimental thesis aims at evaluating the effects of osteopathic cares done in the month preceeding calving in order to try to confirm the interest of preventive osteopathic practice in cattle obstetric medicine. It begins with a theoretical presentation on how osteopathy dysfunction starts and it is followed by a more practical part explaining the disorders as well as the diagnostic methods and the treatment. Then we give a description of the pelvic sphere and the genital organ specificities in cows and the physio anatomological modifications during gestation. Finally, we discuss the effects of an osteopathic treatment during the final period of gestation on calving and the post partum period, including on the heifer’s come back to estrus and on the new-born health.
