Résumé
Introduction : L’ostéopathie est une thérapeutique globale ayant pour objectif la restauration ou la préservation de la santé des patients. Actuellement la prise en charge de la constipation reste essentiellement médicamenteuse et hygiéno-diététique. L’objectif de cette revue de littérature est d’évaluer trois types de traitements différents traitant la constipation : le massage, la neuromodulation et l’ostéopathie, avec comme objectif premier, celui de mettre en avant l’intérêt et l’influence de la prise en charge ostéopathique et son traitement holistique dans le traitement de la constipation chronique.
Matériels et méthodes : Cette revue s’appuie sur la recherche d’articles utilisant les bases de données de science direct, pubmed, biomed central, Journal of Gastro-enterology and hepatology, Journal of the American Osteopathic Association et International Journal of Osteopathic Medecine datant de 2000 à 2015, par mots clés en anglais, français ou allemand en lien avec la problématique de cette revue. Les articles ont été sélectionnés en utilisant les grilles d’analyse de l’ANAES.
Résultats : Au total douze articles ont été sélectionnés. Trois thérapies ont été misent en avant dans la prise en charge de la constipation : le massage, la neuromodulation et l’ostéopathie. Malgré certains biais retrouvés après analyse, ces différentes thérapies démontrent un effet bénéfique sur ce trouble.
Conclusion : Les différentes thérapies étudiées ont démontrées une certaine efficacité dans la prise en charge de la constipation chronique. L’ostéopathie apporte des résultats prometteurs et ce voit comme une alternative judicieuse et intéressante dans une prise en charge pluridisciplinaire. Cependant il est nécessaire d’effectuer plus d’études avec des méthodologies plus rigoureuses afin d’éliminer un maximum de biais.

Abstract
Title : Influence of manual processing on constipation in adults : Literature Review
Introduction : Osteopathy is a holistic therapy which aims to restore or preserve the health of patients. Currently the treatment of constipation remains essentially drug and dietary habit. The objective of this literature review is to evaluate three different treatments treating constipation : massage, neuromodulation and osteopathy, with the primary goal of highlighting the interest and influence of care osteopathic and holistic therapy in the treatment of chronic constipation.
Materials and Methods : This review is based on research articles using the database science direct, pubmed, central biomed, Journal of Gastroenterology and hepatology, Journal of the American Osteopathic Association and International Journal of Bone Medicine osteopathic-dating 2000-2015, by keywords in English, French or German in connection with the issue of this journal. The articles were selected using analysis grids ANAES.
Results : A total of twelve articles were selected. Three therapies were relying forward in the treatment of constipation : massage, osteopathy and neuromodulation. Despite some bias found after analysis, these therapies demonstrate a beneficial effect on this disorder.
Conclusion : The different studied therapies have shown some efficacy in the treatment of chronic constipation. Osteopathy offers promising results and it sees as an appropriate and attractive alternative in a multidisciplinary management. However it is necessary to conduct more studies with more rigorous methodologies to eliminate a maximum of bias.
