RÉSUMÉ

Ce mémoire, réalisé en vue de l’obtention du diplôme d’ostéopathe animalier, traite de la relation entre l’ostéopathie crânienne et l’agressivité du chat.
La proximité et l’intimité des rapports anatomiques entre la boîte crânienne et les structures neurologiques impliquées dans la séquence comportementale agressive, nous ont amenés à nous questionner sur la fréquence des dysfonctions crâniennes retrouvées lors des tests, ainsi que sur l’impact comportemental de leur correction.
L’objectif était de déterminer si la proposition d’un accompagnement ostéopathique serait pertinent pour ce type de troubles comportementaux.
Les 10 chats sélectionnés ont bénéficié de séances crâniennes sur 4 mois.
D’après les résultats obtenus, leur interprétation et les limites de cette étude, nous pensons que ce protocole montre un intérêt certain. Cependant ce sujet mérite d’être approfondi par un travail ostéopathique plus complet, et devrait être réalisé sur un panel de patients plus large.

ABSTRACT

This work was prepared for the osteopath for animals qualification, dealing with the relationship between cranial osteopathy and cat’s agressivity.
Obvious cloness and intimacy of anatomical relationships between the skull and neurological structures involved in aggressive behavioural sequence made us question ourselves about the frequency of cranial dysfunctions identified through testing, as well as about the behavioural impact of correcting.
The objectif was to define whether the osteopathic support is relevant for this type of behavioural disorders.
10 selected cats have received cranial sessions along four months.
According to the results, their interpretation, and limits of the study, we think that this protocol is worth being performed. However, this topic should be further investigated through a more complete osteopathic work and should be tested on a wider range of patients.
